6. Why are there no fucking jobs in Cleveland?
This is by FAR my favorite search in the lifetime of checking out my stats! How awesome that not only does someone pathetically search for a story about jobs in Cleveland (Ask Jeeves no more!), but the PASSION and ANGER in “no fucking jobs” is absolutely classic. Good work, Cleveland! You’ve pissed off someone else enough to check out the lemming-esque city to our west.

Safe topics:

• How much ass I kick at work and at play – Stegmeier due tomorrow at my new favorite beer & beverage store. ‘Nuff said.
• Pushing Daisies – ABC, Wednesdays at 8 p.m. – because it’s awesome (thanks, Kyle!). Also, the world is a darker place without Veronica Mars. Ironic?
• Notwithstanding Sunday night’s aberration, the 2007 Cleveland Indians, “Team of Destiny?” – agree or disagree?

Topics that most likely will not result in your death or mine:

• Indie Rock – not necessarily either “indie” or “rock.” Corollary: Shall I proceed with the “man band” concept I’ve been working on since approximately 1992?
• Manny Ramirez is a baseball hitting savant – not really open for discussion because it’s pretty much true, no matter what you or I say, but Manny stories are fun to tell.
• Jenna Fischer from The Office and her husband split. Is this a sign that 2007 is finally starting to turn around for me?

Topics to be avoided:

• Bret Michaels, Mystery, New York and just about any awful VH1 show that my wife will Tivo during the week and try to make me watch during the few hours I actually get to spend at home on my couch these days.
• The Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Bill Belichick, Tom Brady or Bridget Moynahan.
• Small children, large dogs and bugs of all shapes and sizes. Spent Friday night through Sunday morning with all of the above. If it weren’t for cold beer, it could have gotten really UGLY.

Her final check-in was last week when she settled into Room 128 at the Noble Motel on Euclid Avenue, where her body was discovered. She was lying in bed, her hands bound with wire in front of her and a plastic bag over her head.Police and paramedics arrived at the motel about 11:30 p.m. Saturday after receiving a call from a night manager. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police Sgt. Michael Cardilli said. There have been no arrests or motives in the case, he said.

The woman had checked into the motel sometime last week and paid in advance, said the owner of the motel, Mike Patel.
